Living in Avalon Park means you're on the east side of Orlando, which has its pros and cons regarding traffic. State Road 50 (Colonial Drive) and the 408 (East-West Expressway) are your main arteries.

If you’re commuting to downtown Orlando, expect about a 30-45 minute drive during peak hours. Heading to UCF is a relatively quick 15-20 minutes. The advantage here is connectivity without being right in the thick of constant city traffic. Compared to, say, Chuluota, which feels a little more remote, Avalon Park offers a good balance. The new State Road 528 connection also makes getting to the beach or the airport fairly straightforward.
